NOTIFICATION: Upcoming ACT Testing

As was communicated in an earlier correspondence, Edison High School will be administering the state-funded ACT assessment on March 20, 2018. All juniors, including EHOVE students, will take the ACT(no-writing) test on this date at EHS. Please avoid this date for appointments and ensure that your teen is present for testing.

As the date is drawing near, we wanted to provide additional details related to testing:

     • Students will enjoy a free breakfast from 7:30-8:00am.
     • Testing will begin promptly at 8:00am.
     • All students should report to the gym for attendance purposes.
o Students will test in a large group setting unless accommodations are granted by an IEP/504 plan. Students          testing in another location will be notified prior to test day.
     • Students should bring their own calculators and pencils, but extras will be available.
     • Cell phones and smart devices will not be permitted in the testing rooms. We encourage all students to put them in their lockers (or cars) prior to testing.
     • Clocks will be available in the testing room for timing purposes.
     • Snacks and water will be provided to students between tests.
     • All juniors (including EHOVE students) will be released from school following testing.
Students must have their own transportation to leave at that time. Bus transportation will be
available at the end of the school day as well. Students who choose to remain at the high
school will have access to the library and auditorium.
     • Lunch will be available for purchase in the cafeteria at the regular student cost.
Students approved for free or reduced lunches will get their approved rate. Students do not have to remain at the high school for lunch.

Prior to the test date, all students will complete the preregistration activities including the interest inventory. As this is an official college entrance examination, students may select up to 4 colleges to receive their scores at the time of registration. However, it is not required to select colleges at registration and reports can be sent after testing for a fee.

We strive to keep you updated with the many changes that are happening at the state level.
Please let me know if you require any additional information at this time.
